Woodrow Davis Wilson

Woodrow Davis Wilson, 86, resident of 1925 Old Calhoun Falls Rd., husband of Marion Link Wilson, died Dec. 5, 2003 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Greenwood, SC he was a son of the late Henry Wardlaw and Pearl Pettigrew Wilson.

He was a retired textile employee with Rocky River Mills and a farmer. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Having served from 1941 until 1945. He was also a member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church, where he was a retired Elder of the church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years and one son, Roger Dale Wilson and his wife Sandra; granddaughter, Tonya Fields and husband Cliff; and great-granddaughters, Nikki and Heather Fields, all of Abbeville; a daughter, Jean W. Newton and husband Bill of Aiken, SC; a grandson, SGT. Rob Newton and wife Leslie; great-grandchildren, Taylor Haley and Jake Newton, all of DeRidder, LA; a daughter, Pearl W. Evans and husband Pat of York, SC; a granddaughter, Tena E. Hudson and husband James of Rock Hill, SC; a grandson, Matthew Evans and wife Rebecca; great-grandsons, Zeke, Luke Evans of York, SC; a daughter, Lisa W. Koerber; granddaughter, Elizabeth Koerber and grandson, Chris Koerber, all of Abbeville, SC; a daughter, Sheila Wilson of Greenville, SC; grandsons, Timothy and Ben Henderson; granddaughter, Brittany Henderson of Abbeville, SC; one sister, Maude Latham of Greenwood, SC and a brother, Bill Wilson of Abbeville, SC.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Wilson; and sons, Woodrow, Henry and Earl Wilson. A granddaughter, Tammie Newton and brothers, Charles and Floyd Wilson; and sisters, Noreen Wilson and Frances Stanley.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at 2:00 PM from Warrenton Presbyterian Church. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery with military honorws.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 til 8:00 PM Sunday evening. The family is at the home, 1925 Old Calhoun Falls Rd., Abbeville, SC.
