Wilma Lavender Greene

Wilma Janet Lavender Greene, 90, widow of the late Omah Eldin Greene, formerly of Antreville, entered into rest Sunday December 29, 2024 at NHC - Laurens.

Born on July 21, 1934 in Rutherfordton, NC, to the late James Edward and Trennie West Lavender, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed helping Eldin make Quilts and woodworking. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.

A member of Northside Baptist Church in Greenwood, she taught Sunday School in her younger days at Flatrock Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Vicky Greene Valade (James) of Jacksonville, FL, James A. Greene (Michelle) of Donalds, David W. Greene (Kelli) of Ridgeway; her grandchildren, Jeff Greene, Jr., Benjamin Valade, Christopher Valade, John David Greene, Anna Campbell, Richard Crisostomo, and Dalton Crisostomo; 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 sons, Stanley E. Greene and Alan J. Greene, Sr., and a sister, Nancy Lavender.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday January 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Chandler Chapel of the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with Rev. George Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
