William Thomas Ware, Sr., 96, widower of Edna "Pat" Scott Ware, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home passed away Saturday Sept. 14, 2019 at the nursing home.
Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late Clyde Davis Ware and Carrie Blanchett Ware.
Mr. Ware proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He spent his working career in textiles with Milliken Textiles Abbeville Plant with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church. He was the oldest living member of the church at the time of his death.
The family wishes to express a big THANK YOU to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Abbeville Nursing Home and Hospice of South Carolina.
Survivors include: a daughter Cindy McClinton (Joey) of Abbeville, SC; a son Clyde Ware (Jeanne) of Abbeville, SC; a sister-in-Law Jeanette Ware of Abbeville, SC; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was the last member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by a son Bill Ware and three brothers Marshall, George, and Cecil (Pete) Ware.
A Celebration of William's life will be conducted Friday Sept. 20, 2019 at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Charmaine Miles officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:30 until 2:30 in the Social Hall at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church prior to services.
