William "Bill" Thomas Morris

December 27, 1937 — March 5, 2005

William Thomas "Bill" Morris, 66, of 2529 Broadway Lake Road died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at his home.

Born in Sherwood, Tenn., he was the son of the late Luther and Dona Mae Morris. He was a retired electrician with the Park Dale Plant in Gastonia, N.C. He was employed with the Anderson-Independent newspaper. He attended the Church of God.

Surviving are sons, Tony Morris of Ninety Six, Jeff Morris of Laurens, Billy Joe Morris of Pelzer and Marco Morris of the home; sisters, Polly McCord and Martha Morris, both of Abbeville and Helen Bridges of Greenwood; brother, John L. Morris of Abbeville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles E. Morris and Jimmy Ray Morris; and one sister, Verna Mae Mobley.

Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bobby Mabry; burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The family is at the home of his sister, Martha Morris, 980 Old Calhoun Road, Abbeville.
