William "Bill" H Alexander

William Huey "Bill" Alexander, 76, resident of 410 Long St. Troy, SC passed away Sunday Dec. 28, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Lowndesville, SC he was a son of the late George Pierce Alexander and Janie Waters Alexander.

Bill was a United States Army veteran. He was a retired Welding Manager with CSX Railroad. He was a member of Ridge United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son Brian Alexander of Florida; one daughter Andrea Neathery of Elberton, Georgia; five sisters Virginia McCarley and Sara Grimes both of Abbeville, SC, Juanita Mayfield of Greenwood, SC, Nancy Hiers (Robert) of Walterboro, SC and Caroline Cobb (Mike) of Summerville, Georgia; two brothers Thomas Alexander (Faye) and John Robert Alexander (Roxie) both of Abbeville, SC; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a special friend Tammy and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding Bill in death, in addition to his parents, were his siblings Mary Jane A. Rosser and James Haskell Alexander.

A Celebration of Bill's life will be conducted Wednesday Dec. 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Wednesday morning at the funeral home prior to services.
