Wade Francis Smith

Wade Francis Smith, 77, of 1964 Stevenson Road died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Salisbury, N.C., he was the son of the late William and Frances Tobitha Annie Hicks Boger Smith.

He was twice married first to the late Polly Ann Simpson.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the former owner and operator of Wade Smith's Auto Sales. He was a member North Kanapolis United Methodist Church.

Surviving are widow, Myra Ann Alexander of the home; daughters, Mary Anne Smith Vinson of Charlotte, Susie Rebecca Smith Epps of Greenwood, and Renae Smith Curtis of Cornelius, N.C.; son, Wade Francis Smith Jr. of Gaffney; eight grandchildren; stepdaughters, Myra Jean Powell of Abbeville, and Freddie M. Alexander of Clinton; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
