Tony Edgar Major

Tony Edgar Major, 68, resident of 248 Colony East passed away Tuesday April 12, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC, he was a son of the late Jimmy Major and Cora Maeline Graham Major.

Tony was retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas Authority with over 27 years of service. Tony loved the outdoors and especially riding his motorcycle. He will be remembered for his kind and caring nature toward all of his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by his loving and caring family.

Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Herron, Donna Cheek and Dana Smith all of Abbeville, SC; five sisters, Judy Powell of Elberton, GA, Dianne Todd of Lincolnton, GA, Cheryl Marie Fleming of Donalds, SC, Ann Pressley of Abbeville, SC and Sue Mitchell of Due West, SC; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and a special friend Doug Chapman of Abbeville, SC.

He was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Major.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home 248 Colony East Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 PM Friday afternoon at the funeral home prior to services.
