Susan Marie Burton

Susan Marie Burton, 68, of Anderson passed away May 19, 2017.

She was born Dec. 15, 1948 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was a 1967 graduate of St. Phillip High School in Battle Creek.

Sue obtained her business degree from Limestone College in 1984 and also an accounting degree from Tri-County Technical College. She retired in 2013 from Patrick B. Harris Hospital in Anderson after 16 years of service. Sue previously worked for Singer and the Ryobi in Anderson from 1982-1997.

Sue had many interests including painting, photography, gardening, collecting art glass and other eclectic antiques including a vast knowledge of such with which she generously shared with her many close friends. She will be forever missed.

She is survived by her husband Herman Burton of Anderson, SC; a brother Scott Carlson of California; two step-daughters Angie Dunn of Anderson and Diane Saxson of Elberton, Georgia; two step-sons from a previous marriage Joseph Gambrell of Tryon, NC and Michael Gambrell of Greenville, SC; and four step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Bollard.
