Sallie Wright McMillan

Sallie Wright McMillan, 89, widow of Thomas William McMillan formerly of 107 George St. passed away peacefully Sunday Dec. 27, 2015 at Abbeville Nursing Home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Woodruff, SC she was a daughter of the late William Castlebury Wright and Sallie Patterson Wright.

Mrs. McMillan was a retired Middle School teacher after 36 years of service. She will be remembered for her many years chaperoning the 8th grade Washington Trip for 38 years.

She was a devoted member of Main St. United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She served in the children's nursery and taught Sunday School for over 25 years as well as serving on numerous committees within the church. Mac Mac as she was affectionately known will be remembered for her loving and caring nature.

Survivors include two daughters Beth Addis (Brandt) of Abbeville, SC and Jane Keith (Neil) of Hoover, AL; four grandchildren Christi Keith, Riley Addis, Anna Beth Keith and Will Addis (Lauren); one great granddaughter Ramie.

She was preceded in death by a brother Marion Wright and a sister Martha McKee.

The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude for the love and care Mac Mac was given during her time at the Abbeville Nursing Home. Especially the immense love and care shown to her over the last few weeks by the wing 2 staff.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Main St. United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Arant officiating. The burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery in Greenwood, SC.

The family is at the home of her daughter Mr. & Mrs. Brandt Addis 294 Noble Estates Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends Tuesday December 29, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM in the Greene Center at Main St. United Methodist Church prior to services.
