Ruth Elida Foster Hawthorne

Ruth Elida Foster Hawthorne, 90, resident of 1533 Hwy. 201 widow of Claude Thomas Hawthorne died Wednesday March 30, 2005 at her home.

Born in Mendota, Wisconsin she was a daughter of the late John Morton and Beatrice Leora Hogan Foster.

She was a retired employee of Abbeville Mills and Abbeville Shirt Plant. She was also a faithful member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church.

Survivors are: 1-daughter Barbara Hines of the home
1 sister Grayce F. Wallace of Miami, Florida
6 grandchildren
10 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son James William Hawthorne and a daughter Claudia Joan Hawthone
2 brothers Raymond Ernest Foster and James Morton Foster

Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 1, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Abbeville First Baptist Church with the Rev.'s Reiny Koschel and Darrell Hawthorne officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery in Abbeville, SC.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 Friday afternoon in the Family Life Center of the Abbeville First Baptist Church prior to services. The family is at the home 1533 Hwy. 201 Abbeville, SC.
