Robert M. "Roebuck" Winn, 66, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at the Lakes at Litchfield in Pawleys Island.
Born in Abbeville, he was a member and elder of the Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church and Sunday school superintendent. He retired as central office supervisor with West Carolina Rural Telephone Coop. and retired as assistant chief with the Abbeville City Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member and secretary of the W.O.W. of Abbeville.
Surviving are daughter, Rhonda W. Singleton of Conway; brothers, Thomas J. Winn and Jerry Winn, both of Abbeville; sisters, Sarah Newton of Younges Island, Cornelia Winn of Abbeville, Lorraine Edwards of Greenwood, and Jean Bowden of Parsonsburg, Md.; and two grandsons.
He was the son of the late Claude Adolphus Sr. and Amy Uldrick Winn. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. "Bob" Winn; and a brother, Claude A. "Dolph" Winn Jr.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Howard W. Whitehurst; burial will be in the Long Cane Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
The family will be at the home, 507 E. Greenwood St., Abbeville.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church, 194 S.C. 20, Abbeville, S.C. 29620, or to Palmetto Chapter ITPA, Alzheimer's Research, P.O. Box 470, Rock Hill, S.C. 29731.
Ramey Funeral Home, Saluda, is in charge of arrangements.
