Robert "R.A." Allen Hagen

Robert Allen "R.A." Hagen, Jr., 89, resident of 42 Hagen Drive, husband of Bertie Mae Loner Hagen, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 at Abbeville Nursing Home.

Born in Abbeville County SC Feb. 19, 1927, he was a son of the late Robert Allen Hagen, Sr. and Bessie Uldrick Hagen.

R.A. was a retired textile maintenance supervisor with Milliken Textiles. He was a lifetime member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder, past Trustee, Collecting Treasurer and many other capacities within the church. He was a member of Cold Springs Fire Department where he served as former Chief.
R.A. loved spending time with his beloved Bertie Mae and their large family.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, Bertie Mae Loner Hagen; a daughter, Marsha Patterson (Wayne) of Abbeville, SC; three sons, Milton Hagen (Shirley) of Anderson, SC, Andy Hagen (Joan) of Anderson, SC and Bob Hagen of North Augusta, SC; eight grandchildren, Angie Patterson Latham (Chris), Kevin Hagen (Leanne), April Patterson Bush (Darren), Wendi Hagen Herron (Bryson), Robby Hagen, Drew Hagen (Ryan), Jenna Hagen and Alex Hagen; and eleven great-grandchildren, Jordon Latham, Lucas Latham, Cole Lewis, Bailey Herron, Jackson Hagen, Will Herron, Grady Hagen, Brayden Moore, Parker Herron, Julia Hagen and Emily Herron. He was the last member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Hagen.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday Aug. 26, 2016 at 3:30 PM at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. The burial will follow at Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home 42 Hagen Drive Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 2:30 until 3:30 PM in the social hall at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church prior to services.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Cold Springs Fire Dept.
