Robert Giles

Robert Allen Giles, 84, resident of 1206 Brownlee Rd. husband of Ellen Crawford Giles passed away peacefully Wednesday March 4, 2020 at his home.

Born on Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late William Marvin Giles and Mae Williams Giles.

Robert was a retired employee with CSX Railroad. Upon retirement he became a barber for a number of years. He was a member of Bells United Methodist Church. Robert enjoyed working of his farm and riding his tractor. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with them and his many friends.

Survivors include: his beloved wife of 61 years Ellen Crawford Giles of the home; two sons Buddy Giles (Lisa), Ricky Giles (Sheila); three daughters Debby Ramey (Keavin), Sue Simpson (Tim), Beth Giles; eleven grandchildren Christopher Ramey (Allison),Dwane Balchin (Megan), Amy Giles (Josh), Robin McMurtury (Tyler), Tory Satterfield (Ranae), Beth Hagood (Jamey)Robby Satterfield, Stephanie Ramey, Alyssa Hayes, Savanna Milford (Andrew), Rose Linker; nine great-grandchildren Aiden Ramey, Ethan Ramey, Alayna Copeland, Emma Kate Copeland, Gracie Gary, Aubree Hagood, Jude Balchin, Eliza Satterfield, and Addison Milford.

He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Giles and two sisters Hilda Maxwell and Carol Ann Latham.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Bells United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Allen officiating. The family is at the home of his daughter Mr. & Mrs. Keavin Ramey 140 Everett Drive Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends following services at the graveside.
