Robert C. Gamlin, a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, passed peacefully in the presence of his children on Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Abbeville Nursing Home, SC. Born in East St. Louis, IL on August 18, 1929 to Rolland and Maude (Gauen) Gamlin; he was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Duncan) Gamlin and their daughter, Donna (Gamlin) Heath; his parents; his sister, Dorothy Warner (TX), and brother, Bruce Gamlin (MN).

From 1951-1956, Bob proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Bob’s 44-year career at Wayne Feeds/Allied Mills, Inc. began in St. Louis at age 15 as a sweeper and grew into plant management which, through job transfers, took him and his family to Fort Wayne, IN, Buffalo NY, and finally to Selma, NC where he retired. He was a former member of the Selma Public Library Board of Trustees and a talented woodworker.

Surviving are his children, Steve (and Kim) Gamlin of Smithfield, NC, Debbi (and Jim) Boggero of Abbeville, SC, and Diane Vigrass of North Tonawanda, NY; grandchildren, Nicole (Sean) MacClellan, Blake (Natalie) Heath, and Molly Vigrass; and four great grandchildren, Ryan and Madison MacClellan, and Sam and Olivia Heath.

A graveside gathering of family will be privately held at Lake View Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL. Flowers are gratefully declined. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.lakeviewfuneralhm.com
