Robert Seawright Drake, 90, of 280 Drake Road died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at his home.
Born in Donalds, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired railroad conductor with Riegel Textiles and was also a retired cattle farmer. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. and a member of the Boonesborugh Historical Society of Donalds. He was a member and elder-emertius of Greenville Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are son, Barney Drake of Seneca; daughter, Susan Shirley of Donalds; sister, Eva Lee Drake of Donalds; and three grandchildren.
He was the widower of Irene Hawthorne Drake and the son of the late John Andrew and Louise Devore Drake.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenville Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Joe Brooks; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
