Richard Murray Thrower

Richard Murray Thrower, 62, resident of 107 Oakwood Lane husband of Claire Thrower passed away Sunday June 7, 2013 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Memphis, TN he was a son of the late Rev. Woodrow Thrower and Margaret Murray Thrower.

Richard was a self-employed contractor. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved gardening. He was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife Claire Gorczyca Thrower of the home; a daughter Amy Thrower of the home; a son Rick Thrower of the home; a sister Kathy Watt of Atlanta, Georgia; and a number of cousins.

A Celebration of Richard's life will be conducted Thursday July 11, 2013 at the Chandler Chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home at 2:00 PM.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Thursday afternoon at the funeral home prior to services. The family is at the home 107 Oakwood Lane Abbeville, SC.
