Paul Charles Bollman Sr., 83, of 102 George St., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a World War II Army veteran having been wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Invasion. He was presented a Certificate of Appreciation from France which was given by the Consulate General of Chicago. He was also a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was retired from Milliken Textiles as a Loom Tech. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and also worked in the church nursery for many years. He was also a member of the Greenwood American Legion Post No. 20.
Surviving are widow, Doris Hartsell Bollman of the home; son, Paul "Billy" C. Bollman Jr. of Bradley; daughter, Marie B. Willis of Abbeville; sisters, Doris Mattera of Westville, N.Y. and Esther Craig of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Paul Max Heinrich I and Olvin Marie Daniel Bollman.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church; burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
