Patrick "Pat" Albert Roche

Patrick "Pat" Albert Roche, 91, resident of 1400 N. Main St. passed away peacefully Friday Jan. 23, 2015 at Hospice of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late Joseph Edward Roche and Jennie Mae Jones Roche.

Pat was a retired agent with CSX Railroad with over 40 years of service. He was a loyal and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Pat was one of the founding members of the Seaboard Credit Union. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus. He loved and was very found of his cats and dogs.

Survivors include 2 daughters Kathy Madden (Roy) of Abbeville, SC and Linda Stone of Hodges, SC; ten grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was twice married, first to the late Sarah Spelts Roche and last to the late Martha Ellenberg Roche. He was preceded in death by a son Patrick (Rick) Roche and four brothers Edward Roche, James Roche, Johnny Roche and Dr. William "Bill" Roche and two sisters Elizabeth Francisco and Sarah Jefferies. He was the last member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Jan. 28, 2015 in the chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home at 4:00 PM with Father Bob Sayer officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home 1400 N. Main St. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home prior to services.
