Norma Jean Kurowski

Norma Jean Schoonover Kurowski, 75, resident of 201 Lake Secession Rd. widow of Kenneth Kurowski passed away peacefully at her home Thursday Feb. 7, 2019.

Born Aug. 7, 1943 she was a daughter of the late Guy Mack Schoonover and Alverna Legout Schoonover Selby.

Norma was a retired Certified Nurses Aid with Patrick B. Harris Hospital. She also attended  Midway Baptist Church. Norma enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends. She had a warm personality and never met a stranger.

Survivors include: two sons Brian Kurowski (Mellinda) of Abbeville, SC and Gary Wayne Kurowski of Bridgeport, ILL.; two brothers George Selby of Bridgeport, ILL and Wayne Schoonover of San Pablo, CA; a niece whom she raised like a daughter Billie Hawkins; three grandchildren Breana Tillman (Donald), Kenneth Kurowski and his fiance Amanda and Dakota Kurowski eight great-grandchildren Jordan, Camden, Davion, Sommer, Tamiya, Laila, Annie and Paige; two special friends Jean Drawdy and Linda Bradberry.

She was preceded in death by a sister Helen Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday Feb. 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM in Midway Baptist Church with the Revs. Russ Tollison and Bruce Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to services.
