Miss Nell Amelia McKee, 104, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, September 15 at Abbeville Area Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Claude Wilbur, John Thomas and Andrew Jefferson McKee and four sisters, Janie Clementine Nickles (Lucian), Mary Elizabeth, Lucy Emma, and Edna McKee.
Nell lived a long and active life in Central Shiloh Community. She enjoyed her church activities, going fishing, working puzzles, and yard work. She was employed by Greenwood Mills (Harris Plant) for many years. She was a lifelong member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.
Miss Nell was truly one of the last true Southern Belles, as she carried herself with such grace and dignity, and she always had a warm smile and a kind word for all.
Nell is survived by two nieces, Sarah McKee Clark (Melvin) and Reba McKee Martin (Walter) and many great nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the home of Melvin and Sarah Clark, 547 Central Shiloh Rd. Abbeville, SC.
Visitation with family and friends will be held Monday September 18 at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church at 10 AM. The service to commemorate Nell’s life will be held in the Church Sanctuary at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Gordon Tubbs officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
