Neigel O'Neil Gillespie, 69, of 410 Laurel Tree Lane, husband of Connie Bosler Gillespie, died Monday, September 24, 2007 at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born in Abbeville, S.C., he was the son of the late John Gregg and Gertrude Miller Gillespie.
Mr. Gillespie was retired from Binswanger Glass and of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Micki and Michael Holder of Greenville, Layne and John Farrell of Mt. Pleasant; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Shelley Gillespie and Allen and Dawn Gillespie all of Simpsonville; nine grandchildren, Greyson and Katie Holder, Morgan, Kelsey and Johnny Farrell, Zack, Emmy, Erin and Jack Gillespie; two brothers, John Gillespie of Greenville and Daniel Gillespie of Newberry; and a sister, Ruby Stewart of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Lewis and two brothers, Marion and Kenneth Gillespie.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11:00a.m. at Long Cane Cemetery, Abbeville, SC.
