Miriam Thomasine "Tommie" Stroud Lander

Miriam Thomasine "Tommie" Lander, 81, resident of 110 Wilewood Rd. Abbeville, wife of Col. (Ret.) Robert B. Lander, passed away Sunday Sept. 28, 2014 at The Hospice House in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Darlington, SC, Feb. 10, 1933, she was a daughter of the late John Calvin Stroud and Marie Ernestine Frye Stroud.

Tommie was a homemaker and a member of Main St. United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her loving and caring nature. She will be missed by her loving family and her many friends.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years Col. Robert Benjamin Lander of the home; one son Robert Bartlette Lander (Carol) of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter Miriam Suzanne Chudejora (Zbynek) of Pendleton, SC; 2 grandsons John and Ben Lander. She is also survived by her brother, Keith M. "Mac" Stroud of Charlotte, NC and her sister, Alice S. Hughes (Jimmy) of Ware Shoals, SC.

Preceding Tommie in death were her brothers, Joal Conway "Connie" Stroud, Sr., John Stroud, III, Archie Stroud as well as her sisters, Jan S. Peeler and Mary Ella S. Brown Hueguenin.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday Oct. 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens officiated by Rev. Randy Taylor.

Memorials in memory of Tommie may be made to a charity of one's choice.
