Mettie Lee Gambrell Redden Mobley

Mettie Gambrell Mobley, 91, formerly of 203 Walnut St. Abbeville, widow of Eddie C. Mobley, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Laurens Co. Memorial Hospital.

Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Capers Gambrell and Ollie Marie Smith Gambrell.

Mettie was a retired textile employee having worked many years for Abbeville and Greenwood Mills. She was also a member of Southside Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Lillie Nichols of Ninety, SC and Linnie R. Bell (George) of Joanna, SC; a son, Tommy Redden of Ware Shoals, SC; a sister Sarah Cann of Abeville, SC; 9 grandchildren; and a number of great and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, June 2, 2013 afternoon at 3:00 PM in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Marion Argo officiating. The family is at their respective homes.

Memorials in memory of Mettie may be made to Caris Hospice Care of Laurens, SC.
