Mary Ann Torbett Knox

Mary Ann Torbett Knox, 81, resident of 2917 Hwy. 284, widow of Hubert B. Knox, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at her home.

Born in Bristol, TN, she was a daughter of the late Conley and Margaret Torbett.

She was a retired secretary in medical records and a homemaker. She was also a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are one daughter, Margaret Knox File of Antreville, SC; two sons, Wade Knox of Asheville, NC and Sam Knox of the home; one sister, Helen Cooper of Bristol, TN; and two grandchildren, Mary Lillian File of Antreville, SC and Erin Knox of Marshall, NC.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Con and Billy Torbett and three sisters, Evelyn Miller, Katherine Case and Margaret Hagget.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 from Little Mountain Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 4:00 PM.

The family received friends from 5:00 til 7:00 PM Wednesday, Jan. 1 2003 at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, The family is at the home of her daughter, Margaret Knox File, 270 P. Cromer Rd., Abbeville, SC.

Memorials may be made to The Make A Wish Foundation.
