Marion Tucker

November 14, 1922 — April 18, 2003

Marion Tucker, 80, resident of 203 Sunset Drive husband of Nell Dermody Tucker died Friday, April 18, 2003 at his home.

Born in Calhoun Falls, SC he was a son of the late George and Minnie Thomas Tucker.

He retired from Milliken Textiles Abbeville Plant with 42 years service as Planning Coordinator. He was a mason and a member of the Clinton Lodge #3 AFM. He was a past Worshipful Master and a member of the Past Masters Club. He had over 50 years of service to The Clinton Lodge. He served on the Board of Visitors at Self Memorial Hospital. He also served on the Abbeville Planning Commission. He was a member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church.

Survivors are: wife, Nell Dermody Tucker of the home; two sons, David Tucker and his wife Jane of Anderson, SC, Tommy Tucker and his wife Phyllis of Abbeville, SC; one daughter, Donna Southard and her husband Donnie of Abbeville, SC; two sisters, Aline Wright of Calhoun Falls, SC, Lucille Kemp of Blairsville, GA; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 4:00PM from the Abbeville First Baptist Church with the Reverends Reiny Koschel and Wayne Wiggins officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites.

The body is at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 til 3:30 PM in the Activities Center of the First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 111 Ellis Ave., Abbeville, SC 29620.

The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge.
