Margaret Murray Thrower, 89, formerly of 601 Chestnut St., a resident of Foothills Presbyterian Home, widow of the Rev. Woodrow Thrower, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Easley.
Born in McCormick, she was a retired public school teacher, having taught for more than 30 years. She taught in the Tennessee, Fla., and North Carolina public school systems. She also played the organ for a number of churches. She was a member of the Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are daughter, Catherine T. Watt of Atlanta; sons, Richard M. Thrower of Abbeville and Wallace Michael Thrower of Gary, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David W. Thrower.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John Parks; burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral home, Abbeville.
