Lula Belle Busby Smith

Lula Belle Busby Smith, 89, resident of 900 South Main St. widow of L. C. Smith died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Hospice of the Piedmont.

Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late James "Jim" H. Busby and Ida Smith Busby.

She was a retired textile worker, having worked many years with Milliken and was of the Baptist faith.


Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Purdy Clark; 3 sons, Jesse Ray Purdy and his wife Dianne, Jimmy Smith, all of Abbeville, SC and Ronnie Smith and his wife Patty of McCormick, SC; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 12, 2013 at 4:00 PM in Chandler Chapel, Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with Rev. James Blackwell. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the services from 3:00-4:00 PM. The family is at the home 900 South Main Abbeville.
