Lounell Wiles of 217 Wiles Road, Antreville, SC died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at Hospice House of Anderson after a long illness.
Born in Abbeville Co., she was the daughter of the late Burris E. and Sarah Giles Wiles.
She was a graduate of Dixie High School, where she was the first female bus driver in the state of South Carolina. She graduated from Anderson Hospital School of Nursing as a registered RN. She dedicated her life to the career as a nurse and retired from the Ellenburg Nursing Home as the director of nursing. She was also a member of Bells United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sister and brother-in-law Irene and Ralph Callahan of Antreville, SC; a brother and sister-in-law Ed and Joy Wiles of Anderson, SC; a sister-in-law Ruth Wiles of Antreville, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 14, 2003 at 2:00 PM from Bells United Methodist Church with the Rev.'s Lowery and Beth Drennon officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM.
The body is at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 til 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. The family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Callaham, 234 Wiles Rd., Antreville, SC.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Bells United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 2540 Flat Rock Rd., Abbeville, SC 29620.
