Linda Loftis Brock

Linda Leah Loftis Brock, 81, widow of the late Sloan Pressly Brock, entered into rest on September 12, 2024 at The Renaissance in Due West, SC.

Born in Abbeville on July 1, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Grady Cowan Loftis and Mary Lee Cochran Loftis.

Linda retired from the United States Postal Service where she served as a rural postal carrier in Iva, SC. Prior to working at the post office, she served as the Patient Care Coordinator/Activities Director at Iva Nursing Home and as a student assistant with Abbeville County School District. She was a homemaker for many years while her daughters were young and in school. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, traveling and spending time with family. 

She was a member of Little River Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years in the children’s department as a Sunday School Teacher, GA Leader, and as the church records keeper. 

Linda is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Brock Bigby (Woody) of Due West, and Kimberly Brock Caldwell of Level Land; five grandchildren, Matthew (Katie), Mary Katherine and Madilyn Bigby, Kaitlyn and Andrew Caldwell. 

She was the youngest of six children and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Brown and Thelma Loftis, and three brothers James, Grady, and Ralph Loftis.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Little River Baptist Church with the Rev. Garrett Hart officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:30-8:00 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
