Joseph "Joe" Daryl Schall, 67, of U.S. Army Ret., resident of 201 Parker St. died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at his home.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a retired U.S. Army veteran with 23 years of service. He was a very active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and very active in the Tracy Jackson Gift Program.
Surviving are widow, Rosemary Sybil Jones Schall of the home; daughters, Thelma Mellin of Air Station, Cape Code, Mass., and Jeannie Capps of Abbeville; son, Jimmy Schall of Woodruff; brother, Richard Schall of Golden, Colo.; sister, Ann Schall of Golden; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was son of the late Ernest and Katherine Leahy Schall.
A memorial service of Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Allam Murreddy officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville with Full Military Rites.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the social hall of the church before the services. The family is at the home.
