Joseph A. Bentz

Joseph A. "Joe" Bentz, 75, of 12 Branyon Circle died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was a retired physical education teacher and was of the Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II.

Surviving are widow, Elsie Baldwin Bentz of the home; son, Joseph A. Bentz Jr. of West New York, N.J.; daughter, Libby Folk of Due West; and two grandchildren.

He was the son of the late John and Sara McKenna Bentz.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Due West ARP Church cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Draffin officiating. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday before services in the social hall of the church. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The family is at the home.
