John Leonard Logan, 89, resident of 49 Hidden River Lane husband of Virginia Strickland Logan passed away Friday Nov. 29, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Boise, Idaho he was a son of the late Chester James Logan and Gertrude Tobin Logan.
John was a retired Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service. He served his country during World War II. He was a 4th Degree member Sir Knight John Logan of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 3100 Pope John Paul II and a former Grand Knight of the Assembly. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years Virginia Strickland Logan of the home; five daughters Karen L. Bell (George), Donna M. Logan both of Abbeville, SC, Rosemary Crockett (Tommy) of Volcano, CA, Deborah Whaley of McClain, VA and Sandra Logan (Michael Burr) of Williams burg, VA; four grandchildren Janet Bishop, George Lee Bell III, Karma Loberg (Gary) and John N. Bell; 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers George B. Logan, Joseph D. Logan and Chester J. Logan and sisters Marie L. DeLapp and Mary L. Anderson.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Tuesday Dec. 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jeremi Wodecki officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery with Full Military Rites.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 PM Monday evening Dec. 2, 2013 at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
