John "JC" Charley Kimsey

July 20, 1928 — January 20, 2005

Charley "J.C." Kimsey, 76, resident of 802 S. Main St., widower of Ruth McCurry Kimsey, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.

Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late Charley and Ruth Saxon Kimsey. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired loom fixer with Bloomsburg Mills and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are daughter, Cathy Brown of Abbeville; son, Randy Kimsey of Abbeville; stepdaughter, Linda Sullivan of Greenwood; sisters, Mildred McConaha of Atlanta and Merrileen Harris of Elberton, Ga.; brothers, Wayne Kimsey of Elberton, Richard Kimsey of Abbeville and Larry Kimsey, Robert Kimsey and Harold Kimsey, all of Calhoun Falls; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home by the Revs. Tye Sorrow and Marion Argo; burial will be in Melrose Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday before the service.

The family will be at the home.
