Jerry Allen McGill, 49, resident of 301 Masters Drive Anderson, SC passed away Monday Jan. 7, 2013 at his home.
Born in Las Vegas, NV he was a son of the late Donald Edward McGill, Sr. and Tina DeMarco McGill.
Jerry was a graduate of Dixie High School and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Academy in Columbia, SC. Jerry retired in 2007 on disability after an illustrious career in Law Enforcement. He spent 13 years with the Iva Police Dept., 2 years with the Belton Police, 10 years with Clemson University Police and 13 years as a South Carolina State Constable. Jerry along with Floyd Felker founded the Annual Property Owners Association Fireworks display on Lake Secession. He also participated in the Annual Belton Fireworks display. Jerry will be remembered for his caring smile and his gentle demeanor.
Survivors include 1 sister Diana McMahan and her husband Terry of Iva, SC; 2 brothers Thomas DeAndrea and his wife Dana of Dallas, TX and Donald "Dino" E. McGill, Jr. and his wife Linda of Anderson, SC; 5 nieces and nephews Christina Tracy, Michelle Renee McGill, Rachael Ann McGill, David DeAndrea and Daniel Thomas DeAndrea; 7 great nieces and nephews; his beloved cat Razor who was with him for 15 years.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be conducted Saturday Jan. 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Greer officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 Saturday afternoon prior to services at the funeral home. The family is at 14 Doc Williams Rd. Iva, SC.
