Jennie Finley Hilley Purvis

Jennie Finley Hilley Purvis, 86, resident of 298 Morris Rd. passed away Wednesday Oct. 24, 2012 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC with her loving family by her side.

Born in Abbeville, SC she was a daughter of the late Thomas Finley and Margaret Cox Finley. She was twice married first to the late William "Bill" Hilley.

Jennie was a retired homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by them all and her many friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Morris and her husband John with whom Jennie made her home of Abbeville, SC; a son, John Hilley and his wife Belinda of Casselberry, Florida; a sister, Anna Sentell of Abbeville, SC; 3 grandchildren, Matthew of the home and Jeff and Sara; 2 great-grandchildren Nevaeh and Someria.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Faye Clark and a great-grandson Jeffery.

Funeral services will be conducted at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel Saturday Oct. 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. The burial will follow in Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery near Elberton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends Friday Oct. 26, 2012 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of her daughter Mr. & Mrs. John Morris 298 Morris Rd. Abbeville, SC with whom she made her home.
