Janice Ashley Manning

Alma Janice "Jan" Ashley Manning, 72, resident of 1230 Central Shiloh Rd., wife of Dr. William "Bill" Manning, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Greenwood, SC, she was a daughter of the late William "Willie" Benjamin Ashley and Irene Mabrey Ashley.

Jan was a graduate of the College of Commerce in Greenwood, SC with a degree in Secretarial skills. She was a member of the Upstate Daylily Society and the Old Ninety Six District Model A Ford Club. Jan and her husband, Dr. Bill Manning, were strong supporters of Gilgal United Methodist Church.

Jan is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Dr. William (Bill) Manning of the home; two sons, William Steven Manning of Abbeville, SC and Dr. Benjamin Meyer Manning (Suzanne) of Greenville, SC; one daughter, Dr. Erika Lyn Manning of Florence, SC and two grandchildren Madeline Manning and William Manning.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday Aug. 21, 2014 at 3:00 PM in Gilgal United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home 1230 Central Shiloh Rd.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 PM in the fellowship hall at Gilgal UMC prior to services.
