James Wiley Thompson, 86, of 59 Lake Russell Lane died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Commerce, Ga., he was the son of the late William Ernest and Tiny Gertrude Langston Thompson.
He was a retired self-employed carpenter and brick mason. He was one of Jehovah Witnesses.
Surviving are widow, Catherine Gailey Thompson of the home; sons, Charles Thompson of Commerce, and Tim Thompson of Iva; daughter, Janie Thompson of the home; brothers, Hubert Thompson of Abbeville, and Jack Thompson of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness by minister Randy Kidd.
The family will be at the home.
The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.
