James "Jimmy" Edward Pruitt, 59, of 1590 S.C. 72 West died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a security guard with Greenwood Packing Co. and attended The Abbeville Congregational Holiness Church.
Surviving are widow, Brenda McCord Pruitt of the home; sons, David Pruitt and Eddie Pruitt, both of Abbeville; and a sister, Mamie Jean Smith of Belton.
He was the son of the late Euris and Clara Vaughn Pruitt. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Thomas Eugene Pruitt.
Services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Congregational Holiness Church by the Revs. Tye Sorrow and Bobby Burke; burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery, Abbeville. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The family will be at the home of his son, Mr. and Mrs. David Pruitt, 205 Florence St., Abbeville.
The family suggests memorials be made to The Congregational Holiness Church, 101 Perry St., Abbeville, S.C. 29620.
