James Allen "Jimmy" McCarley, 84, resident of 263 Hwy. 71 husband of Virginia Alexander McCarley passed away Sunday Nov. 25, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Jim was born June 7, 1928 to the late John T. McCarley and Sallie Conwell McCarley.
He was retired from Southeastern Textiles. He was a salesman for Hughes Well Drilling Co. in Anderson, SC and Billy Landford Well Drilling in Saluda. His friends and family will remember him as a dealer for cedar wood products; lumber and post.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Virginia Alexander McCarley of the home; 2 daughters Jene Davis and her husband Carl of Hartwell, Georgia and Susan Harris of Greenwood, SC; 4 grandchildren Carla and Kevin Fallin of Cummings, Georgia, Shannon Moore of Columbia, SC, Jena Davis of Pemba Mozambique, Africa and Nick Moore of Abbeville, SC; 5 great-grandchildren and Son-in-law Danny Moore of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Martha Moore; a brother John T. McCarley and a sister Ruth Ashley.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Nov. 28, 2012 at 3:00 in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Campbell officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at the home 263 Hwy. 71 Abbeville, SC.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 PM Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home prior to services.
