Helen Gambrell Ashley, 84, resident of 870 Hwy. 185 South widow of James Raymond 'Bull' Ashley died Friday Feb. 22, 2008 at her home.
Born in Anderson Co. SC she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Nobie Williamson Gambrell.
She was a retired seamstress with the Oxford Shirt Plant, Honea Path, SC and also worked for many years in textiles with Reigel Textile Mills. She was also a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered as a loving Mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
survivors are: 1 daughter Jean Lynch and her husband Jason of Donalds, SC; 1 son Albert Ashley and his wife Debbie of Donalds, SC;2 sisters Louise Cannon and Rachael Hanks both of Honea Path, SC: 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Harold and Devore Gambrell.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday Feb. 24, 2008 at 4:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John Miller, Jr. officiating. The burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ashley is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will recieve friends from 3:00 until 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon prior to services. The family is at the home 870 Hwy. 185 South Donalds, SC.
