Grace Kirby Mundy

Grace Kirby Mundy, 79, of 113 McGowan Ave., widow of Gordon Mundy, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Emma Reynolds Kirby. She was a retired weaver with Milliken Textiles of Abbeville and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Karen Smith of Abbeville, stepdaughter, Rose Ann Mundy III of Charlotte, N.C.; sons, Stanley Hartley Sr. of Greenwood, John Hartley of Fayetteville, N.C., and Mark McDonald of Whitmire; stepson, Andrew Mundy of Abbeville; brother, Ned Kirby of Elberton, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Westside Baptist Church by the Revs. James Long and Frank Thomas; burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville.
