George Gary Seawright, Jr.

George Gary Seawright, Jr., 79, resident of 172 Bell Rd. Husband of Karrel Toennies Seawright passed away Friday Dec. 8, 2017 at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, SC.

Born in Abbeville County South Carolina he was a son of the late George Gary Seawright, Sr. and Bessie Ferguson Seawright.

George was a retired conductor with Seaboard Coastline Railroad now known as CSX. He was an avid railroad enthusiast having collected many different train items. He and his wife enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions. George also loved a good cigar from time to time. He was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Karrel Toennies Seawright of the home; three sons, George Gary Seawright, III of Abbeville, SC, Chris Seawright (Meloney) of Belton, SC and Russell Seawright (Jenna) of Fair Play, SC; a daughter Leslie Moore (Chris) of Anderson, SC; one sister Juanita Clamp of Abbeville, SC; three step-sons; John Autry Watkinsville, GA, Gary Autry of SLO, CA and Eric Hamilton of Tallahassee, FL; two step-daughters Katherine Jeffcoat and Karrel Arrington of GA; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; his beloved cat Snowball.

In addition to his first wife Sandra Louise Ferguson Seawright, he was preceded in death by a step-son Tony Autry.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday Dec. 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Little Mountain Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
