George Franklin McCord, 50, resident of 105 Barnwell St. passed away Wednesday Nov. 13, 2013 at his home.
Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of Pollie Morris McCord and the late William F. McCord.
George enjoyed woodwork and carving. He also liked arrowhead hunting and spending time with his family and his many friends. George was a wonderful uncle to his many nieces and nephews but he spent a large part of his life living and taking care of his loving mother Pollie.
Survivors include his mother Pollie Morris McCord of the home; one sister Martha L. Ivester of Abbeville, SC; one brother William R. (Billy) McCord of Abbeville, SC; companion and friend Judy Copeland; his best friend Jimmy Copeland and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Revs. Tye Sorrow and Boyd Arnold officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home 105 Barnwell St. Abbeville, SC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials in memory of George may be made to a charity of one's choice.
