Gayle Iva Davison

  Gayle Iva Davison was born in Long Beach, California on March 24, 1937.  She died November 15, 2022 at The Doctors Trauma Hospital in Evans, Georgia.

  She was preceded in death by her Husband, Boyd M. Davison and daughter Lisa A. Crider.

  Raised in Portland, Oregon from early childhood, Gayle earned a scholarship at Holy Child Academy High School in Portland, Oregon. She later earned a degree from Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, as a surgical nurse, graduating in the top 10% of her class.

  Her career took a different direction when she became a Vocational Rehab Counselor for the state of Oregon. She made another career move after she married Boyd Davison in October of 1987. Together they operated their engineering firm Jade Consultants which included conducting dam inspections in the states of Oregon, California, and Nevada.

  Gayle & Boyd retired in Abbeville, South Carolina in 1995. They shared their time between Abbeville, South Carolina and Dessert Hot Springs California, enjoying their retirement and family on both the west coast and the east coast.

  Gayle is survived by her two sons, Phillip J. Gustafson of the home, and Mark P. Gustafson and Angie of Beaufort, South Carolina; Two daughters Laura M. Olson and Dean of Abbeville, South Carolina, and Anita L. Clark of Abbeville, South Carolina; Sisters Elaine Hinson of Greenwood, South Carolina, Julianne Bowles of Oregon City, Oregon; Brothers James (Jim) and Roberta Hinson of Mesquite, Nevada, and David (Davey) and Susie Hinson of Mohawk, Tn.; also, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

  Memorial services will be a Mass celebrating her life at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abbeville, South Carolina, at 11:00 a.m. January 14th, 2023.

  Private interment will be January 12, 2023 at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, South Carolina, where she will join her late husband Boyd M. Davison.
