Ethel Fleming Thomasson

Ethel Fleming Thomasson, 97, of 1614 S.C. 72 died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at Heardmont Nursing Home in Elberton, Ga.

Born in Elbert County, Ga., she was a retired textile employee with Abbeville Mills and a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are son, Ronald Thomasson of Abbeville; sister, Leona Dye of Elberton; two grandsons; two step-granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Garnett W. Thomasson and a daughter of the late Jim and Ora Lee Childs Fleming.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Arnold Johnson and Brian Hachett officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday.
