Ethel Timms Burdette, 79, of 110 Phillips St. died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, she was a retired textile employee with Matthews Mill in Greenwood. She was also a member of the Abbeville Congregational Holiness Church.
Surviving are sons, Charles M. 'Kilroy' Burdette of Villa Rica, Ga. and Jimmy Ray 'Tadpole' Burdette of Abbeville; daughters, Linda J. Suddeth of Hodges and Gloria B. Bond of Abbeville; sisters, Marie Clark of Raleigh, N.C., Martha Hoertz and Betty R. Bowie, both of Abbeville; brothers, Fred Lee Timms of Fountain Inn and Charles Rayford Timms of Seneca; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Charles I. Burdette and the daughter of the late J.B. and Pauline Crawford Timms. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Eugene Burdette; two brothers, J.B. Timms Jr. and Pressley Timms; and one sister, Evelyn Murphy.
Services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday from The Congregational Holiness Church by the Rev. Tye Sorrow; burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Family members will be at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Bond, 200 Haigler St., Abbeville.
