Emily Elizabeth Smith

Emily Elizabeth Smith, 80, formerly of Abbeville Arms Apts. resident of Abbeville Nursing Home passed away Tuesday Feb. 23, 2016 at the Nursing Home.

Born in Abbeville, SC she was a daughter of the late Charlie Smith and Jessie Hammett Smith.

Emily was a retired textile employee having worked for Rocky River and Bloomsburg Mills for many years. She was a member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church and faithfully attended Southside Baptist Church. Emily will be remembered for her many wonderful meals she prepared. She was also known for her delicious cakes and pies. Emily loved people and doing for others.

Survivors include a sister Faye Ratliff of Abbeville, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Fields and a beloved nephew Keith Ratliff.

A Celebration of Emily's life will be conducted Saturday Feb. 27, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church with the Revs. Earl Hartley and Marion Argo officiating. The family is at the home of her sister Mrs. Faye Ratliff 2392 Old Calhoun Falls Hwy. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Saturday afternoon at Southside Baptist Church prior to services.
