Eleanor McIlwain McKee, 101, resident of 513 McIlwain Rd. widow of John Thomas McKee passed away Tuesday April 16, 2013 at Self regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Greenwood, SC she was a daughter of the late James Andrew McIlwain, Jr. and Rebecca Elizabeth Sharp McIlwain.
Eleanor was a retired homemaker and a lifelong member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. She was the oldest member of the church prior to her death.
She will be remembered for her loving and kind demeanor.
Survivors include a son, James William "Billy" McKee (Beatrice) of Hickory Tavern, SC; 4 grandchildren, Jerry McKee of Milford, DE, Terry (Lee) Webster of Salsbury, MD, Lisa (Mitchell) Holman of Hickory Tavern, SC and Connie (Jim) DeVuono of Hickory Tavern, SC; she has numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren & nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws Margaret McIlwain and Nell McKee both of Abbeville, SC.
She was preceded in death by a son, Francis H. McKee; a granddaughter, Patty Mahew; sisters, Eula M. Rudd, Sara Clementine McIlwain and Mary Reid; and also by brothers, Lewis, Henry, Bill and Harold McIlwain.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday April 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. The burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church prior to services.
