Edward "Shine" Lee Davis

Edward Lee "Shine" Davis, 80, resident of 2146 Old Calhoun Falls Rd., passed away Monday Jan. 12, 2015 at Abbeville Area Medical Center.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC, he was a son of the late Adrian Wilson Davis and Katherine Bell Davis. He was preceded in death by his step-mother Fronia Davis and a brother Gene A. Davis. He was raised in his grandmothers' home, Macie W. Davis.

Leon was in the SC National Guard. He worked in textiles for a number of years and tended to his farm and cows in retirement. He loved everyone he met including his dogs and cats. His loving family and his many friends will miss him.

Survivors include two sisters Elizabeth D. Cantrell and Patricia D. McCurry both of Abbeville, SC; his uncle Gaines Davis of Abbeville, SC and his aunt Manilla B. Hanks of Iva, SC; nieces Shelley Ruff, Heather Cantrell, Kim Morton and Ginger Miller; nephew Jeff McCurry; great-niece Audrey Ruff; great-nephews Logan Ray and Hunter Manley; and a very special friend Richard Simpson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Jan. 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Revs. Marion Argo and Greg Dixon and Mr. Mike Hendricks officiating. The burial will follow in Warrenton Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to services. The family is at their respective homes.
