Edna Stamey Whitlow, 74, resident of Hospice House, Anderson, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at the Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in McCormick, she was a retired registered nurse and textile employee and was a member of The Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Anderson.
Surviving are daughter, Sherry Knoth of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sons, James Ashley Jr. and John Ashley, both of Greenwood and Lonnie Ashley of Hodges; brother, Roy Stamey of Greenwood; sister, Jean Walker of Hendersonville, N.C.; and a number of grandchildren.
She was the widow of James Whitlow and the daughter of the late John Tony and Lou Ellen Minor Stamey. She was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Graham; and a brother, Tony Stamey.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Warrenton Presbyterian Chuch cemetery with Bishop Harold Dabel officiating. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
The family is at the home of her sister-in-law, Lillie Stamey, 721 Watts Road, Abbeville.
The family suggests memorials be made to The Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, 105 Kenilworth Drive, Greenwood, S.C. 29649.
